The most important hurdle in solution
implementation & technology transfer is lack of a streamlined
knowledge base. It is a frequent occurrence that due to lack
of knowledge & expertise, solutions are not implemented in its
entirety. Also rapid & thorough deployment of technologies is
not achieved because of the fact that some technologies are
implemented in isolation. Therefore it is very important for
any manufacturing organization to be aware of all the latest
technologies available in the engineering industry so that
there could be an increasing mindset towards solution
implementation rather than technology purchase. One way to
achieve this is by Knowledge Sharing & leveraging each others
expertise.
Intriguity offers a platform for knowledge sharing with an
endeavor to bring together technology experts & technology
seekers for an indepth insight into particular technological
areas by knowledge sharing. The emphasis therefore would be to
focus on the technology rather than the technology brand.
Presently, Intriguity conducts 2 Workshops at periodic
intervals meant for manufacturing industries & mechanical
engineers.
WORKSHOP ON 3D MODELING
CONCEPTUALIZE │ DESIGN │ COLLOBORATE │ MANUFACTURE │
The Product Development Cycle can be defined as the
transformation of an idea into a manufactured product. Every
manufacturing company’s goal is to reduce the time required to
achieve this transformation. One of the most important part of
the product development cycle is the representation of the
idea or concept in such a fashion so that the manufacturer can
understand the same & manufacture it. Every manufacturing
company’s endeavour is to streamline this communication
process so that products of the highest quality at the lowest
price can be manufactured at the shortest possible time.
However due to increasing complexity of products, there are
numerous difficulties in this process such as
manufacturability of a part, material selection, process
selection, make or buy decision, product costing etc.
Therefore in todays scenario products have to be designed in a
collaborative environment where change is a frequent
occurrence. Also time required for Design Representation &
Design Comprehension should be minimum.
3D Parametric Modeling enables to design products in a virtual
& changing environment. Look around and you will see 3D CAD
software programs being used to design almost everything we
use. Models of designs can be created and prototyped on the
computer before ever actually being built, thereby reducing
errors and shortening the product’s time to market.
Stereolithography rapid prototype files can be used to create
prototypes, sometimes in a matter of hours, allowing designers
and engineers to hold an actual part in their hands. Analysis
programs can test a model for stress, strain, and thermal
conditions; can find the resonance frequency of a part; and
much more. Assemblies can be “assembled” on the computer, and
interference checks can be made. Mass properties can be
obtained and amount of material for a specific part can be
calculated, both automatically by the computer.
Animations can be created to show dynamic movement of parts in
an assembly, or to show assembly sequences for those putting
the product together. Kinematic packages help engineers
visualize dynamic motion and apply conditions like gravity and
spring effects. Photorealistic rendering utilities can produce
beautiful images for use in advertisement brochures. There are
even document management tools that will automatically track ECNs for you.
Colloborative Engineering softwares allows real-time
colloboration between designers & manufacturing personel so
that products are designed in a collaborative environment with
knowledge sharing leveraging the power of the internet. The
list goes on and on, and it gets longer every day.
INTRIGUITY conducts an Indepth 3 Day Workshop on 3D Modeling
encompassing the techniques & best practices in 3D Design. The
Workshop also addresses concurrent & downstream processes such
as Motion Simulation, FEA, Mold Design. The entire thrust
would be to highlight the modus operandi more than brand
training. Details
RPD – WORKSHOP ON RAPID PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT
DESIGN │ PROTOTYPING │ TOOLING │ DIRECT MANUFACTURING
Global economy has led to a fundamental change in product
development of
manufacturers. For survival in the global market,
manufacturers should be able
to attain & sustain themselves as ‘ World Class
Manufacturers’. It means that
manufacturers should be capable of delivering products of the
highest
attainable quality, of the lowest attainable cost & at the
right time.
Rapid Product Development means deployment of technologies
such as
Forward & Reverse Product Development, Rapid Prototyping &
Manufacturing, Rapid Tooling along with other downstream
processes in
combination with existing in-house facilities in designing,
proofing, making &
marketing.
The right product being developed in a prompt lead time is the
most important
winning ingredient. The use of working prototypes in bridging
a multidiscipline
team composed of the marketing, design, engineering and
manufacturing people to design right at the first instance in
catering for the
customers concerns from functional requirements to
environmental issues. The
combination of the RP&M and CAD technologies in blending with
traditional
technologies and gradually formation of cross departmental
company culture
are the strategies for survival or strategies for empowering
organisation, people
and facilities. Details
