Solidscape r66+ user – Amy jewellery designer bags best design award at the kerela gem & jewellery show 2010.

Kerela Gem & Jewellery Show (KGJS) is one of the most prestigious shows in South India. Held in the gold capital of Kerela, Cochin & organized by the premier jewellery magazine “ The Art of Jewelry” from India, this show boasts a triple digit exhibitor list & thousands of visitors attending the show every year. Since South India has a significant share in the
gem & jewelry consumption in India, this show allows a good opportunity for jewelry manufacturers from India & abroad to showcase their designs in the show and also to bag some good orders.

AMY Jewellery Designers have been a new entrant in the jewellery manufacturing arena but they have already gone ahead with one of the most superior set-ups in South India. In early 2010, they purchased a Solidscape R66+ from Intriguity for their master model making requirement. “ I remember when I had gone for an installation with my engineer to AMY Jewellery Designers, they had just begun the set-up. I was quite surprised to see that the first system to be installed in the entire factory was a Solidscape R66+. When I asked Mr Sachu Rassak, the MD of AMY Jewellery Designers who also has an MBA Degree from the University of Wales, he replied that their focus was to create unique & lightweight designs in the gold jewellery segment & he first wanted to ensure that the masters came out good before he can take it to casting. I was really amazed by his foresight & was quite sure of his success”.

AMY Jewellery Designers participated in the KGJS Show the same year & won the best design award in the light weight traditional jewellery
category. The master model was produced using the Solidscape R66+ Printer within 1 day after the CAD was developed in Rhino.

“Solidscape offered us significant benefits which included the ability for us to make very thin cross sections. Since the support material can be easily dissolved, we
could print extremely complex details & later take it for direct casting. The surface quality was also great so we did not have to spend time to polish it. Also, the technical support from Intriguity gave us good training & also overcame minor hiccups during the implementation stage.
